Students Poverty

Students Poverty

Student poverty is rarely discussed or written about. It is generally believed that if students can afford tuition and textbooks, surely they must have enough to buy food, pay for housing and life’s daily essentials. It is well-known that tuition is ever-rising and national student loan debt at an all-time high (more than $1 trillion), so student poverty isn’t a joke—it’s an American crisis, as cited by Forbes, and it’s also a problem around the world.

GERA makes it a priority to work toward positive changes related to students’ poverty through programs, campaigns and various events.
